33-year-old cake from Charles and Diana's wedding sold at auction
This is what people with too much money do.
Someone paid US$1,375 (S1,710) to take home a slice of cake from the wedding of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana.
Yes, that's right. The cake is 33 years old, which is probably a decade older than most of you reading this.
According to Mashable, the cake came wrapped in its original wax paper and doily. Nate D. Sanders, the auction house that sold it off, said on its website that it also came in its original box, monogrammed with the letters CD.
Also included was a card which read: "With best wishes from Their Royal Highnesses, the Prince & Princess of Wales."
A spokesman for the auction house reportedly said it would not be a good idea to eat the cake.
