A train fault on the North East Line (NEL) caused a 40-minute service delay yesterday morning.
In an alert sent at 7.20am via its mobile information app, NEL operator SBS Transit said that commuters heading towards HarbourFront should expect 15 minutes of additional travel time.
About 10 minutes later, there was another alert informing commuters that free buses were available at designated bus stops between HarbourFront and Dhoby Ghaut stations.
SBS Transit said regular service on the NEL resumed at about 8am, and that it was running smoothly as of 8.26am. The operator has apologised for the delay.
