ABOUT SCORE APPRECIATION AWARDS

The Score (Singapore Corporation of Rehabilitative Enterprises) Appreciation Awards is an annual event to recognise companies and individuals who support the rehabilitation and reintegration of ex-offenders.

This year, 73 organisations and individuals were given the awards.

The Bridge of Hope award - the most prestigious - went to the chairman of the Yellow Ribbon Fund, Mr Phillip Tan, who is also chairman of the Community Chest.

He launched several initiatives when he took over the fund in 2006, including the Yellow Ribbon Emergency Fund, which helps families in financial difficulty when a member is in prison, or when an ex-offender needs help getting back on his feet after release.

Last year, the fund gave out $1.14 million, which helped 2,311 families.

Other award winners included Resorts World Sentosa, the Singapore Academy of Law and Poh Tiong Choon Logistics.
