'Beatles' relive famous walk
More than 50 years after their last stopover in Singapore (a 55-minute visit in 1964 after a tour of Australia and New Zealand), The Beatles were spotted "strolling" across Raffles Place during peak hour yesterday.
Wax figures of the Fab Four - Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, George Harrison and John Lennon - were placed on the grass patch outside Raffles Place MRT station, surprising passers-by on April 1 or April Fool's Day.
In walking poses reminiscent of the English rock band's famous Abbey Road album cover, the wax figures were created in 2012 at the Madame Tussauds headquarters in London to commemorate McCartney's 70th birthday.
The figures will be on display at Madame Tussauds Singapore from tomorrow.
