Boy, 3, irritates aunt so much that she cuts off his penis
He wanted to play games.
So the three-year-old boy walked in on his aunt, who was using the toilet, and pestered her for her mobile phone.
Angry at his behaviour, the aunt Xue Paan, 37, grabbed a knife from the kitchen and sliced off the boy's penis as a form of punishment.
The incident happened in Henan province, central China, on Nov 7.
The boy's mother, Cai Tuan, 27, was outside the building when she heard her child scream and rushed in.
She saw her son lying in lying in a pool of blood. He had fainted and the aunt was nowhere in sight.
The mother recalled: "(There) was a knife and his penis next to him. It was simply horrific."
Reattachment surgery
The boy was immediately rushed to a hospital in Zhengzhou where he underwent six hours of reattachment surgery.
He was later transported to a specialist clinic in Beijing.
A hospital spokesman said the knife used was "quite blunt and the cut wasn’t clean, so although we reattached the boy’s penis, it wasn’t ideal and he had to have further treatment".
The boy underwent three rounds of surgery.
Hospital workers are confident that the 3-year-old's penis will function properly in three months, with minor side effects.
Police arrested the aunt, who now faces up to five years in jail.
