He was playing a game of chase with his older brother on Wednesday (Jan 28).

But tragedy struck after the five-year-old fell to his death through the railings from the sixth floor of a People’s Housing Projects block in Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya, The Star reported.

Their mother was cooking lunch for the family when the older brother, seven, ran into the house and told her about the incident.

“My legs gave away after seeing his lifeless body sprawled on the ground,” she said in between tears.

He was the youngest among five siblings.

Security guard Zarina Johan, 52, said she heard a thud coming from upstairs as she was standing guard on the ground floor of the block.

She told The Star: “I thought someone had thrown a large pile of rubbish. I was so shocked to see the body of a boy lying on the spot where the sound came from.”

Ms Zarina alerted the mother after she recognised the child.

She said: “I saw his mother falling to her knees upon reaching his body.”
