BREAKING: Zayn Malik quits One Direction tour due to 'stress'
Zayn Malik has quit the One Direction world tour because of "stress".
The band's spokesman said: "Zayn has been signed off with stress and is flying back to the UK to recuperate. The band wish him well and will continue with their performances in Manila and Jakarta."
All five members were present for the Singapore leg of the On the Road Again tour last week.
So what is stressing Zayn out?
If The Sun's source is to be believed, recent photos taken in Thailand of Zayn with a woman who is not his fiancee are to be blamed.
The UK tabloid quoted a source as saying: "Zayn finds it tougher than the rest of his band-mates dealing with fame. Having his every movement scrutinised causes great anxiety and the pictures which surfaced with the fan yesterday was the final straw."
"He did nothing wrong but the amount of criticism he received was simply too much. He needs to get away."
Zayn is engaged to Perrie Edwards from English girl group Little Mix.
Fans in Manila and Jakarta are understandably disappointed.
Some, however, still remain hopeful.
Others have accepted the news and are tweeting their support for the 22-year-old.
