Catch Saturday's 'Blood Moon' in Singapore
Do not go running to the hills if you notice that the moon has turned red on Saturday (April 4) night.
It's just the Blood Moon and has nothing to do with anything supernatural or scary.
But it should be a spectacular event whether you are interested in the space or not.
A full lunar eclipse will occur on Saturday night, casting the moon in an eerie, but perfectly normal red hue.
This kind of eclipse occurs when the Earth passes between the Sun and the moon, as opposed to a solar eclipse when the moon passes between the Earth and the sun.
The phenomena turns the moon red because the sunlight which passes through earth's atmosphere has the blue light filtered out, leaving only the red light.
Luckily for us in Singapore, we are able to see the full lunar eclipse, which according to the Science Centre Singapore will occur at around 8pm.
The eclipse will only happen for about five minutes so timing is key if you want to catch the moon turn red.
Saturday's eclipse is the third in a series of four eclipse which the scientist are calling a tetrad.
The next eclipse is set to occur on Sept 28, 2015.
The Science Centre Singapore is holding a free event where you can come and view the Blood Moon through their telescope.
