Cops nab serial handphone snatch thief who targets women in western parts of S'pore

He would target women at Jurong East, Pandan Gardens and Faber Walk housing estates.
When he locked onto a female victim, the 26-year-old man would snatch her handphone.
Since January this year, police have received five reports where the female victims’ handphones were snatched from them.
Officers from Clementi Police Division arrested the man today at 1.40 am at Penjuru Place. Four of the stolen handphones were recovered.
Police investigations are ongoing.
The man will be charged on March 2. If convicted, he can be jailed up to seven years and caned.
