Couple hit $3 million jackpot at Vegas slot machine that hasn't paid out in 20 years
The most popular slot machine "Lions Share" at MGM Grand Las Vegas has finally paid off, reports News3
Walter and Linda Misco of Chester, New Hampshire, were playing the one-armed bandit on Friday night when three long-awaited green emblems lined up horizontally on the jackpot centre pay line.
The lucky grandparents had been playing about five minutes and putting $3 in for each pull when they hit the US$2.4 million (S$3 million) jackpot.
The couple told reporters the winnings would help put their five grandchildren through college.
They said they may also buy a new car.
“MGM Grand is delighted to award this historic jackpot to the lucky winner of the "Lion’s Share," and we couldn’t be happier for the winners and their family and friends,” said Scott Sibella, president and chief operating officer of MGM Grand in a press release.
“This monumental event is another great example of why MGM Grand is the Entertainment Authority, and our goal of providing every guest with the ultimate Las Vegas experience.”
The casino also said the machine was known for refusing to yield its top jackpot for over 20 years.
