Divorced couple dumps 3 kids at welfare home after finding new lovers

A divorced couple dumped their three children at a welfare home in Kuala Lumpur so that they could each start life afresh with their lover, Harian Metro reported.

The children, aged between eight and 11, were left at a Welfare Department office as soon as the divorce was finalised.

Federal Territory Welfare Department director Khatijah Abdullah said: "At first, custody was awarded to the mother. But she, together with her new husband, abused the children."

The father then visited the office saying he could not take care of the children because they were "too naughty".

"The excuse showed us he was merely trying to get out of his responsibility as a parent."
