Singaporeans heading to the Legoland theme park, take note.

Part of the Miniland attraction at the Legoland Resort was damaged after a fire broke out yesterday night (July 16).

Resort public relations manager D. Deviga confirmed the blaze happened at around 8.30pm, newspaper The Star reported.

She said in a statement:

"There were no injuries, as the park was closed when the incident occurred. No guests were in the area or at the park when it happened."

A Johor Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said they received a call at about 8.40pm and sent a team from the Pulai fire station immediately.

Firemen put out the blaze in 20 minutes, The Rakyat Post reported.

The fire had melted the Kuala Lumpur replicas in Miniland. The affected cluster has since been covered and cordoned off.

The rest of Miniland was not affected.

"The cause of the fire is currently being investigated by both the Park management and relevant authorities," Ms Deviga said.

The park is open to the public as normal today.
