Fire at Serangoon North; woman sent to hospital

A fire broke out at a 10th storey flat in Serangoon North Ave 4 earlier today (Jan 27).
The Singapore Civil Defence Force spokesman said they received a call at about 1.25pm.
The fire involved the contents of living room - and was quickly extinguished within 10 minutes with one water jet.
A woman was sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital for suspected smoke inhalation. SCDF said she was alert and conscious when found.
IT software engineer Andrew Pang, 42, was surprised to see a thick cloud of black smoke outside the unit.
SCDF is investigating the cause of the fire.
