Four primary school children dead after SUV ploughs into them
Four primary school children were killed Wednesday morning when an SUV ploughed into them as they were walking into a school to participate in a World Science Day event.
The Nation reported that at least 10 others were severely injured in the accident that happened in Northeast Thailand.
The driver of the SUV is a former school director and he had suffered an epileptic seizure while driving, leading to the accident. It was also reported that the driver, who requires regular medication for his seizures, had been several other accidents previously.
The four students were killed instantly.
The driver has been detained by police. According to The Nation, the driver is usually driven to school. It is not known why he had chosen to drive that day.
