Have unwanted food? Donate it at City Square Mall

This article is more than 12 months old

The Food Bank Singapore, a non-profit organisation, has set up a bin to collect unwanted but unexpired packaged food at City Square Mall, next to Farrer Park MRT Station.

The food collected can be distributed to feed the needy, the organisation said yesterday.

"It's also a way for companies and individuals to do their part to reduce food wastage and put their excess food to good use," its co-founder Nicholas Ng said.

It is hoping to introduce more of these food bins in other shopping centres, as well as smaller ones in homes and offices.

An exhibition at the mall aims to raise awareness of food wastage in Singapore.
