Her 4 daughters have been reading TNP since they were young, says TNP Bonus Challenge winner
Not one but two members of this family bought multiple copies of The New Paper, hoping to win in TNP's Bonus Challenge.
The efforts of Madam Tang Hwa May and her daughter, a designer, paid off yesterday when the pair won two $100 cash prizes, making a total of $200.
Madam Tang had one card, while her daughter, Miss Beverly Ng, 22, had another.
The ecstatic part-time cleaner, 55, said in Mandarin yesterday: "Of course we were expecting to win, we bought so many copies of the paper hoping to win something from the Challenge."
She cannot remember how many copies her family bought.
Madam Tang, who usually reads the Chinese newspapers, began buying TNP to take part in the challenge.
Her four daughters, aged 16 to 23, however, have been avid readers of the paper since they were young. The extra copies bought did not go to waste.
"We ask our friends and family if they read the paper. If they do, we'll pass those we've bought to them," said Madam Tang.
She will be spending the prize money on a sumptuous dinner with her family.
To play, simply buy a copy of TNP with a Bonus Challenge Card every Monday, from now till Dec 21.
Match the numbers on the card against six daily digits printed in TNP from Tuesday to Sunday.
Complete any vertical row of numbers and claim your prize on that row by answering a simple question on the spot.
Answers to these questions can be found in TNP together with the day's numbers.
Other prizes up for grabs include an iPad Mini 3 and a Mini folding bike. There were no winners for the $4,000 jackpot cash, iPad and bike prizes yesterday.
As a result, the cash prize will snowball to $5,000 today.
