I was 'harassed' by victim's voice: Attacker
The first sign that something was amiss was when Mr Low Chin Lye felt something cold on his neck.
When he looked up, he saw Wong Keng Foong, who shouted, "I will chop!" in Hokkien.
Mr Low tried to get up, but Wong slashed him on his left shoulder and neck area.
When Wong dropped the chopper, Mr Low picked it up and tried to fight back.
Both men fell during the scuffle, and coffee shop patrons rushed to separate the two.
One customer placed a plastic chair between them.
Wong claimed that he had been harassed by Mr Low's voice and wanted to teach him a lesson.
He also claimed that he was being pestered by the cabby's spirit.
Wong, who was unrepresented, said he had been an Institute of Mental Health patient since 1985.
District Judge Salina Ishak ruled that Wong was not of unsound mind when he attacked Mr Low.
Wong could have been jailed up to 15 years, fined or caned.
