If you use eBay, change your password now
It's time to change your password again. This time, for your eBay account.
US online giant eBay was hit by a cyber attack between late February and early March.
Why didn't we hear about it earlier?
Because the company only detected the breach in its database two weeks ago.
This potentially affects eBay’s 128 million active users.
The database “included eBay customers’ name, encrypted password, email address, physical address, phone number and date of birth", but “did not contain financial information or other confidential personal information”, an eBay spokesman said.
The California company said it was notifying its customers, and urging them to change passwords to protect their personal and financial information.
Users of PayPal need not worry, the attack did not affect its data.
