James Foley's parents receive message dictated by son during his capture
When you lose a family member suddenly, the only thing you crave to hear is their voice again.
The Foley family got the closest thing to that from their son James, who was reportedly beheaded by ISIS Islamic militants in Syria as an act of retaliation for US airstrikes in Iraq.
Two months before he was murdered, he dictated a message to send to his family to a fellow captive, The Telegraph reported.
The hostage, whose identity has not been revealed, was released and called Foley's mother, Diane, to tell her James' message.
The heartbreaking yet hopeful text was posted on the Free James Foley page on Facebook:
Foley was abducted in Syria last November while covering the war there.
A video released on Tuesday by Islamic State, an al-Qaeda offshoot that has overrun large swathes of northern Iraq and Syria, showed Foley being beheaded.
