Chong Jun Liang, 32, first picked up a camera at 14, when he joined the photo club in school, and he has never looked back. He had freelancing stints for The New Paper and wire agencies before becoming a staff photographer with the SPH Special Projects Unit in 2008, specialising in portraiture and feature photography.

Wang Hui Fen, 42, is deputy picture editor with The Straits Times. She graduated with an honours degree in Graphic and Media Design from the London College of Printing in 1996. She has covered major news events, including the 2004 tsunami in Aceh and the Sars crisis in Singapore.
