Malacca man dies after winning lottery
A 62-year-old man in Bukit Cina, Malacca, died after he found out he'd won the second prize in a lottery.
China Press reported that the man, a helper at a noodle stall in the area, had found out about his win while checking the newspaper at 6am on Thursday morning.
A patron of the hawker centre said the man, known only as Yong, had shown him the winning ticket.
The winning combination? 1234.
He was heard to have exclaimed at finding out about his win, before collapsing on the floor. His employer called the ambulance but paramedics later confirmed he was dead.
According to the report, translated by The Star, the winning bet was a mere RM1 (S$0.40), although it is unclear how much Yong had won.
