Police have arrested a 31-year-old man who allegedly broke into close to a dozen homes in Woodlands and, on some occasions, molested the women who were inside.

The man entered a unit near Woodlands Drive 14 on Oct 5, but fled when someone inside noticed him and shouted for help, stated a police press release on Wednesday.

The authorities investigated the case and was able to get an image of him from one of the police cameras in the area.

Police managed to identify the man after appealing to the public for information. He was arrested on Tuesday (Oct 28).

The man is believed to have committed at least 10 other such cases near Woodlands Drive 14.

In some cases, he also molested the women in the houses.

He will be charged in court on Thursday (Oct 30) with House Trespass and Outraging the Modesty of a Woman.

If found guilty of the former, he can be jailed for up to a year and/or fined up to $3,000.

If found guilty of the latter, he can be jailed for up to two years, fined and caned.
