A 39-year-old man was arrested on Friday for robbing a taxi driver.

He had boarded the cab on Thursday at West Coast Road at about 9.45pm.

Upon arriving at his destination at Yung Sheng Road, the man robbed the 34-year-old taxi driver of the money in his shirt pocket and alighted.

The loot? A measly $10.

The man was arrested at Clementi Avenue 5 at around noon the next day, the Singapore Police said in a statement.

He will be charged in court on Saturday.

For the offence, he can be jailed for up to 14 years and at least 12 strokes of the cane.
