Man arrested for a series of clinic break-ins around Bedok

Police arrested a 35-year-old man who broke into three clinics and made away with medication and cash.

Between last Saturday and Friday, the man gained entry into three clinics at Bedok South Road, Marine Terrace and Bedok North Street 1 through the rear window or front door, a police press release stated.

The man stole more than 100 bottles of cough mixture and other medication like panadol, sleeping pills and pain killers. He also took a total of $2,254.

Police arrested the suspect on Friday at Bedok North Road. Officers raided the man's house and found 66 bottles of cough mixture and other medication.

He is believed to have sold some of the cough mixture bottles to various unknown parties.

The man will be charged in court on Saturday for housebreaking and theft by night.

If found guilty, he can be jailed for up to 14 years.
