Man films tornado as it APPROACHES him
*Warning: explicit language used in the video*
What would do if you you see a tornado approach you?
Would you have the presence of mind to film the natural phenomenon?
One man in North Dakota USA did exactly that, reported NY Daily News.
Mr Dan Yorgason, 44, stepped out to enjoy what he thought were cool summer showers, but what he got instead was a tornado touching down about 30 metres away from him.
"I checked outside to step under the rain - because I like summer rains - and I looked to the right to the east and didn't see anything. Then I looked to the west and saw it coming," Yorgason said.
He knocked on the door of his friend and neighbour, Mr Abram Schiff, and the pair immediately ran to their truck to get away from the monster, leaving most of their belongings behind.
It was only then they realised that the only road out of their area would have been directly on the path of the tornado.
Mr Schiff can be heard in the video asking: "Dude, where do we go? We have nowhere to go."
Luckily, they decided rightly to drive by the side of the tornado so as to move out of the monster's path.
"We decided to go sideways towards the side of it rather than try to outrun it," he said. "We figured there was no way to outrun a tornado."
Which gave us this amazing footage.
Rare Tornado
According to USA Today, the tornado was a rare event for North Dakota.
Reaching a maximum speed of 193 km/h, the tornado critically injured a 15-year-old girl and hurt eight other people in a camp for oil workers.
The unnamed 15-year-old girl was rushed to a hospital and is currently in intensive care with head injuries.
