Man to hang for Yishun murders
The death sentence of a Chinese national who killed three women - his lover, her daughter and their flat mate - has been confirmed by a ruling of the Court of Appeal.
Wang Zhijian, 48, had also wounded the flat mate's daughter in the knife attack in Yishun in 2008. He was initially convicted of only the flat mate's murder and had appealed. The prosecution had also appealed, seeking a murder conviction in the other two deaths.
Yesterday, the three-judge apex court dismissed Wang's appeal and allowed the prosecution's.
The court disagreed that he suffered from an abnormality of the mind.
