Man killed, chopped up girlfriend who wanted to end relationship
A Malaysian man is believed to have killed his girlfriend and chopped her up after she said she wanted to break up with him.
He then set fire to her remains in an attempt to conceal the crime.
On Wednesday, Abd Khalid Md Isa was charged in court in Penang with murder.
The 43-year-old unemployed man killed Ms Rohani Hashim, 30, at a house in Bukit Tengah between 4pm on Sept 29 and 6pm on Sept 30.
A villager related to Abd Khalid found the burnt body parts in Kampung Tok Keramat on Oct 1.
Released from prison
On the same day, police - acting on a tip-off - arrested Abd Khalid in Kedah at 4.45pm.
Central Seberang Prai Assistant Commissioner Rusli Mohd Noor said the suspect, from Langgar, Kedah had 12 previous drug-related and criminal offences.
He was only recently released from prison.
Abd Khalid, who was unrepresented in court, was not offered bail.
