Two men were arrested by Malaysia police for killing a plantation worker, whom they suspected of stealing their buffalo.

The body of the worker, who was in his 30s, was found in a plantation in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

Kinabatangan district police chief Superintendent A Sahak Rahmat said on Tuesday that two foreigners, aged 25 and 31, were arrested at a house in Lahad Datu at about 5.30am on Monday.

"The two men were believed to have slashed the plantation worker several times as there were multiple slash wounds on his body when it was discovered at an estate on Sept 27," he said.

"The victim was said to have been attacked by the two men as he was suspected of stealing their buffalo."

"The victim was found lying in a pool of blood beside a motorcycle at an estate in Kinabatangan," he said.
