Models fined for causing public nuisance with sexy photos

This article is more than 12 months old

Models Low Kah Wai, 27, and How Jo Yee, 21, have been fined RM400 (S$156) each for the photos of their sexy pre-wedding photoshoot that went viral.

Low Kah Wai was shirtless in black pants, shoes and a bow-tie while How Jo Yee wore only white undergarments, a wedding veil and heels.

The judgment was made by Magistrate Haslinda A. Raof yesterday after they pleaded guilty to causing nuisance in public.

The photoshoot was done at a traffic light in front of the CIMB bank branch in Jalan Sultan Yussuf.

Their counsel Andrew Soong said the freelance models and their families were very stressed that the photographs went viral online.

He said they were considering pressing charges against the people who published them online.

DPP Harris Ong Mohd Jeffery Ong, who was pushing for the maximum fine of RM400, said their act became known because of the social media circulation.

“The country is made up of a multi-cultural society and their action is unacceptable,” he added.

Soong said both models will apologise to anybody who was offended by their action.

They were charged under Section 268 of the Penal Code and have paid the fine.
