Mother shocked after discovering what was hidden inside toy wand
A mother from Dayton, Ohio was appalled at what she discovered after buying a toy wand for her daughter at a local store.
The product, named "Evil stick", was packaged with pink lettering, fairies, swirls and snowflakes - all too innocent looking at first.
But when a piece of foil was removed from the toy, a creepy image of a girl slitting her wrist with a knife was revealed.
"It's a picture of a girl slitting her wrists. I'm outraged over it," mother Nicole Allen told Dayton TV station WHIO.
"I want to know how they think that that is suitable for a child. There was barbie dolls on one side and baby toys on the other side, and these were right in the middle."
Mr Amar Moustafa, the store's owner, said that the responsibility lies with the parents to properly check the toy's label.
"The name on it, it says "Evil Stick",' he said.
"So from the name, if I was buying it for my kid, I would inspect it before I gave it to them."
He added that he felt it would be suitable young children, claiming "they see that on TV every day".
