M'sia students to retake English exams after leak

It's not just Science exam papers that were leaked.

Malaysia's second Education Minister Idris Jusoh confirmed that the English Primary School Achievement Test, more commonly known as the UPSR, has also been leaked.

The UPSR is the Malaysian equivalent of Singapore's Primary School Leaving Examination.

Students have to re-take the paper, which they just sat for on Thursday (Sept 11) morning, Malaysian Insider reported.

It's the second leak to be discovered.

Yesterday, Malaysian media said the Science national-level examination has been postponed because the papers were leaked on social media.

Originally slated for today (Sept 11), the Science exam is now scheduled for Sept 30.

The Examinations Syndicate, the agency responsible for administering the examinations, said they made the decision to postpone after they found out that three different Science papers with the codes 018, 023 and 038 had been leaked.

Close to half a millions students are affected, Malaysian Insider reported.

Noor Azimah Abdul Rahimah, chairman for the Parent Action Group for Education, branded the saga "shameful".

And in an ironic twist, second Education Minister Idris Jusoh took to social media - the very medium where the leak first happened on - to apologise for the postponement.
