M'sian officer charged with soliciting sex from single mothers
A Kedah Development Authority senior officer is facing two charges of corruption for soliciting sexual favours from single mothers.
Heris Saad, 56, allegedly asked for the favours in exchange for his help in getting approvals for low-cost homes in Malaysia.
The man pleaded guilty in a sessions court on Tuesday (Nov 18), but changed his plea to "not guilty" three hours later.
He allegedly committed the first offence at a KFC outlet on Nov 10 and the second at a hotel on Nov 13.
Heris, who was not represented in court, was allowed bail of RM80,000 (S$31,000).
If found guilty, he can be jailed for up to 20 years for each charge.
