Zamani Ibrahim, the frontman of popular 90s Malaysian band Slam, was arrested in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday (Jan 21) for alleged drug abuse.

While under arrest, a video was taken of him being asked to sing his band's hit song Gerimis Mengundang, while his right hand was cuffed.

About a minute into the video, he stops singing and asks sheepishly if he's sung enough.

A voice behind the camera can be heard asking the singer to continue.

The clip has since gone viral.

Many of those online expressed their outrage at how the singer was treated.

Some called for the person who recorded the video to be punished.

Malaysian police say they will investigate and take action against the individuals who recorded and distributed the video online.

Zamani, 43, was arrested at his house in Ampang, Kuala Lumpur with an unidentified 32-year-old woman for alleged drug abuse, reported Astro Awani.

The Star Online reported that the woman was allegedly in possession of a plastic container with 1.2g of heroin.
