M'sian teacher-rapist who attacked student loses appeal, 15-year jail term remains
He raped his secondary student three years ago.
When he tried to fight the 15-year jail sentence meted out, the Court of Appeal said no.
Ahmad Shukran Ramli had appealed against his conviction for raping the 15-year-old in his quarters at a secondary school in Pahang and the 15-year jail sentence that the Sessions Court meted out.
A three-member panel unanimously dismissed his appeal, citing overwhelming evidence against him and the serious nature of the crime, reported newspaper The Star.
Ahmad Shukran had telephoned the girl’s mother, asking her to allow her daughter to go over to his quarters to do some project work for the school’s arts club.
The girl’s mother initially refused to let her go but Ahmad Shukran told her that other students would also be at the quarters.
He then asked one of the student’s friends to go to her house and bring her to his quarters, where he raped her.
