Mum claims five-year-old son remembers dying in a fire in past life - as a woman

This article is more than 12 months old

He is just five years old. But listen to Luke Ruehlman - and you'll be stunned too.

He has been telling his mother tales of another time and another life - as a 30-year-old African-American woman called Pam.

Ohio boy Luke, who lives in Ohio, said he used to live in Chicago as Pam, until she died in a fire in 1993.

The blonde-haired and blue-eyed boy claims he was then reincarnated and remembers his parents naming him Luke.

The recollections have since stopped.

Luke's mother Erika, told TV channel Fox 8 her son seemed fixated with the name Pam since the age of two.

She recalled:

"He used to say: 'When I was a girl, I had black hair’ or 'I used to have earrings like that when I was a girl'."

She was even more taken aback by other details he offered, such as the process of reincarnation.

The stay-at-home mum added that her son would tell her:

"Well, I used to be Pam, but I died.
"I went up to heaven, and I saw God, and he pushed me back down and when I woke up, I was a baby and you named me Luke."

Erika later found an old news story, which wrote about a Pamela Robinson dying when Paxton Hotel caught fire in 1993.

A paranormal investigations TV show also claimed that Luke's story was accurate.

During the show, Luke was shown pictures of several black women in their 30s and managed to pick out Pamela Robinson correctly.

According to the Robinson family, Luke and Pamela's personalities were very similar.

They both love Stevie Wonder and playing the piano.
