Nivea deletes Facebook ad on woman with dark armpits after backlash

If only body odours can be eliminated so easily. 

Body care brand Nivea deleted its latest advertisement for its deodorant from its Facebook page on Thursday (March 5) after netizens kicked up a stink over it.

The post, which was put up on Feb 28, included a three-minute clip showing a Singaporean woman being shunned for having dark armpits.

 

The ad stars YouTube personality Maimunah Bagharib, of the popular duo MunahHirzi.

The video has divided netizens – While some saw the funny side of the clip, others felt it promoted yet more insecurities about women's bodies.
