Norwegian artist eats his own hip and says it tastes like wild sheep
Well, he's not quite Hannibal Lecter ... yet.
But a Norwegian artist has claimed to have eaten the flesh off his own hip bone.
Mr Alexander Selvik Wengshoel,25, told Nordlys Newspaper at the opening of his graduation show from the Tromsø Academy of Contemporary Art that he had boiled the flesh and eaten it.
The hip bone was a part of the exhibition, which also included a film of the operation to remove it.
Mr Wengshoel was born with a deformed hip and depended primarily on a wheelchair or crutches. At the age of 21, he was finally given his metal hip replacement.
He convinced doctors to let him film the hip replacement operation and keep the bone.
"I just wanted to use it in my art. I didn't know at that time that I would boil it and eat it," Mr Wengshoel told Norwegian paper The Local.
He continued: "I had to boil off the meat to get to the bone, and when I started scraping off the meat, I took off a little piece and though 'Why not do it? It's not every day I will have a piece of human flesh which is mine... so I had a little taste.
"I thought that it was really nice."
