Not in my backyard! MPs, residents upset at porn star's tour to their cities

A public backlash against sex in the city is stirring MPs and residents in some parts of Britain into action.

They're upset that a British porn star who is touring the country and having sex with members of the public in the back of a lorry is visiting their area and they are unable to do anything about it.

This should not be allowed, irate locals tell the media. Not in my backyard, anyway.

More than 2,000 men, women, and couples applied to have sex with Rebecca More during her nationwide tour for adult TV channel Television X, newspaper Mirror reported.

Twenty winners have been chosen for the stunt.

The tour began in Birmingham on Friday (Oct 17).

It headed to Manchester and Leeds at the weekend and will visit Southampton before ending in London on Saturday (Oct 25).

Some of those involved in the tour, including Mathew Whelan, Britain’s most-tattooed man, have been sharing pictures on social media

He's also known as Ink Land King Body Art The Extreme Ink-Ite.

A furious Khalid Mahmood, Labour MP for Birmingham Perry Barr, criticised the stunt.

He told the Birmingham Mail:

"It obviously sends out the message that this kind of thing goes on in Birmingham.

That’s not the right message for the city to send out and it creates a negative image of Birmingham.

We can’t confront what happens in a van, but I would urge the local authority to ensure that it doesn’t in any way affect our communities and young people."

The newspaper said Birmingham city council claimed it hadn’t received an application for the lorry used in the filming to be housed in any public squares in the city.

'Not the sort of thing we want'

Leeds resident Thomas Richards told the Mirror: “It’s outrageous and a disgraceful way for people to degrade themselves.”

“It hardly promotes safe sex, queuing up in a line with a load of strangers to get your end away.

“I’m surprised this is even allowed, it’s bordering on prostitution.” - Leeds resident Thomas Richards

According to the paper, the tour is set to end in Camden, where a local councillor said: “It sounds horrible. … It does not sound like the sort of thing we want in Camden.”
