Nurse who posted anti-S'pore rant on Facebook has been fired by TTSH

This article is more than 12 months old

The nurse who made anti-Singaporean comments on Facebook has been fired by Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH).

The Facebook post went viral last weekend, outraging many.

Mr Ello Ed Mundsel Bello later claimed that his social media account had been hacked.

But it was posts he made last year that led to his dismissal.

TTSH said in a press release on Friday that Mr Bello admitted to posting three offensive posts that touched on race and religion in 2014.

It added: "Our decision for dismissal is independent of the ongoing police investigation of the more recent alleged posts made in January 2015."

He was put on administrative duties earlier this week before being fired.
