Game of Thrones fans to wed as Drogo and Daenerys
It looks like we have another royal wedding on our hands.
Taking cues from the characters they dress up as - Game of Thrones' Khal Drogo and Daenerys Targaryen - cosplayers Simon Redstone and Samantha Halstead have decided to tie the knot.
And they'll be marrying just like the Khal and his Khaleesi in a three-day traditional Dothraki ceremony.
It was love at first sight for the real life Khal and Khaleesi when they first met at London's Comic Convention last May.
"When I first spotted Sam, she was buried beneath a blonde wig, clinging to a homemade dragon's egg, dressed as heavenly Daenerys Targaryen," Redstone recounted the first time he laid eyes on his fiancee to Mail Online.
"She was beautiful and ethereal, just like the character in the show. I passed her a note and we promised to meet at the next convention."
To top it off, the couple will be exchanging their wedding vows in Dothraki, the language of Khal Drogo's tribe.
One could write them off as just another pair of obsessed fans but Halstead believes cosplaying as the characters from George R.R. Martin's universe is not just a hobby to her and her husband-to-be.
She said: "Dressing as Daenerys and Khal is so much more than cosplay to us - it's our whole relationship. It's so exciting."
See? Game of Thrones doesn't always have to be associated with bad endings.
