Other fatal falls this year

There were 12 construction site deaths in the first three months this year.

Last year, a total of 33 deaths were reported in the construction sector, according to the Workplace Safety and Health Statistics Report.

Fourteen of the 17 fatal falls happened while working at heights.

A Chinese worker fell 19 storeys to his death at a Sengkang construction site at Fernvale Street. He was hit by a structure hanging from a crane.

A Bangladeshi construction worker fell four storeys to his death when the structure he was standing on gave way. The accident happened at a worksite along Eunos Road.

Jan 29

Eleven construction workers fell from a three-storey structure when a portion of the formwork collapsed. One worker later died in Singapore General Hospital.
