Crimewatch, which attracted 1.3 million viewers on its debut in November 1986, continues to enjoy high viewership and has regularly ranked as the number one programme on Channel 5. It is also consistently ranked among the top 10 programmes on Channel 8, Suria and Vasantham.

Each episode, reenacting an actual case, attracts an average of 1.2 million viewers.
