The number of illegally registered SIM cards sold to mobile phone shops by Tan Kong Chieh between January 2010 and August 2012. He was jailed for four years yesterday. Tan had earlier pleaded guilty to 220 counts under the Computer Misuse and Cybersecurity Act for using the stolen identities of foreign nationals to falsely register the cards.
