A runaway lorry sent people scrambling for safety on a busy street at the heart of Singapore's financial district. The driver had parked the vehicle along Battery Street opposite UOB Plaza temporarily to run an errand. The vehicle started moving with its engine running.
The lorry mounted a kerb near UOB Plaza before coming to a stop. No one was hurt.

A taxi rolled forward, mounted a kerb and crashed into a clinic. The driver had parked his vehicle in a parking lot opposite a clinic because he wanted to make a quick stop to buy Toto. He left the engine of his automatic transmission taxi running with the gear engaged, but pulled the hand brake, he told The New Paper.
No one was hurt.
