Samantha Ko flaunts 'assets' at TVB Awards
The babes of Hong Kong's top broadcaster TVB sure know how to turn heads on their big night.
At the 2014 TVB Anniversary Awards held on Monday evening, sexy bombshells flaunted ample cleavage and pricey bling.
Nanjing-born rising actress Samantha Ko, who boasts a 36D bust size, sashayed down the red carpet at TVB City, in Tseung Kwan O New Town, in a resplendent, sweeping red gown.
Ko, 27, who lost to Priscilla Wong in the Best Improving Female Artiste category, appeared a little shy when Singapore reporters quizzed her backstage about her sex symbol image.
"During the fitting, my outfit didn't come across as so revealing," she mused.
"Maybe I should cover up a little?"
Thankfully, she didn't. Otherwise, she may have been upstaged by fellow stars who sported shimmering accessories of all shapes and sizes.
Ko said her necklace was valued at HK$6 million (S$1 million).
"It's like the cost of a house," she joked.
Actress Sharon Chan told the Singapore media with a radiant smile that the 150-carat diamond on her necklace is worth HK$10 million.
Showing off her famous long legs in a see-through white dress, the 35-year-old added: "I'm also wearing my wedding ring for good luck."
Despite her efforts in the wardrobe department, Chan lost the Best Supporting Actress accolade to Josie Ho, the daughter of Macau casino tycoon Stanley Ho.
While other stars like Leanne Li, Kate Tsui and Selena Li showed some bosom, Bubbly Canadian-born actress Eliza Sam stood out by looking simple in a shoulder-baring floral dress by Dorian Ho.
"My style is casual and comfortable, with a touch of femininity. That's why I always wear heels," said the 30-year-old.
Sam's necklace boasted 64 carats worth of diamonds and is valued at HKD$3.4 million.
The undisputed queen of TVB Charmaine Sheh was the biggest winner at the star-studded event, snagging Best Actress and Most Popular Female Character trophies.
It is a triumphant return for Sheh, 39, who made a comeback to TVB in August last year. She had left the station in 2011 to crack the mainland China market.
Sheh held back tears as she received the award for Best Actress and thanked her mum for always encouraging her and staying by her side.
She told Singapore reporters that playing an undercover agent who poses as the owner of a massage parlour in the series Line Walkerwas a rewarding yet "extremely challenging" experience.
Line Walker premieres on VV Drama (StarHub Ch 855) on Dec 30 at 9pm.
"The pressure was on me. I went into the production knowing audiences would hold high expectations of my performance," she said.
"As with all my other dramas, I did a lot of research and homework prior to the shoot."
The homework certainly paid off.

Touching speech from family man
Veteran TVB leading man and Best Actor winner Roger Kwok delivered the most moving moment at the 2014 TVB Anniversary Awards, clad in an outfit which would draw tears.
Clutching his trophy, the 50-year-old doting father of two told the audience that it was a pity his wife and kids couldn't attend the awards ceremony "as it was a school day (the next day)".
He has a six-year-old son, Brad and a three-year-old daughter, Blair.
"So, I decided to get my children's faces and names printed on my suit," he said.
Kwok beat his competition by playing a wheelchair-bound lawyer in the drama Black Heart White Soul, which is now showing on VV Drama On Demand (StarHub TV Channel 857).
WIFE AND KIDS
"This suit is my wedding suit. I wore it when I got married. It's like I have my wife and kids with me here right now."
With a grin, the three-time Best Actor winner, who was also victorious in 2002 and 2005, recalled something Brad had said before he left the house.
"My son shouted jokingly at me, 'Don't come home until you win an award!'
"I paused for a second. Then I told my son, 'Actually, I've already won the best awards in my life. I won them when you and your little sister came into my world.'"
Altogether now, awww...
