Robber beats retiree to death after he refuses to hand over bag
He had gone to investigate suspicious noises coming from a neighbouring house.
Little did the man, 66, know that there was a housebreaking attempt going on. Tragically, the investigation led to the retiree losing his life.
Petaling Jaya police chief ACP Azmi Abu Kassim said a robber had broken into the house in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, yesterday evening.
When he rushed out, he saw retiree Ang Hun Mung and tried to snatch his bag, Malay Mail Online reported.
When the 66-year-old refused to hand the item over, a struggle ensued. The robber, in his 20s, beat him until the senior citizen collapsed.
That was when he panicked and fled on a motorcycle.
A post-mortem found that the victim had died from a heart attack.
