Amos Yee back in court, faces eight new charges
Blogger Amos Yee turned up in court on Thursday (May 26) and was charged with eight new offences.
Yee, 17, faces five counts of offending Muslims and a sixth for offending Christians.
He also faces two counts of failing to turn up at Jurong Police Division, despite having been served a notice to do so.
On Thursday, Yee turned up in court with his mother.
The prosecution called for an urgent hearing date saying Yee's offending behaviour was escalating in a bid to get more attention.
Yee claimed in court he would not post any more content and would try his best to hire a lawyer to represent him.
This comes less than a year after being jailed four weeks last July for posting content offending Christians, and uploading an obscene image.
