Crash causes massive jam on KJE
A fatal crash involving a motorcycle and a car along the Kranji Expressway (KJE) towards the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) near the Brickland Road exit resulted in a massive jam yesterday.
The police said they received a call about the incident at about 5.25am.
The 60-year-old motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), the motorcyclist was trapped and had to be extricated using hydraulic rescue tools and air bags.
Twitter user Lim Wen Sheng tweeted: "I finally reached (the) office after travelling for more than two hours due to (a) massive jam caused by (an) accident on KJE..."
Three lanes on the KJE had to be closed.
At about 9.30am, the police posted on Facebook that all lanes were open to traffic.
Police investigations are ongoing.
