According to the Beer Index 2015, Singapore is the 6th most expensive place in the world to get a beer. It is also the second most expensive beer nation in Asia (behind Hong Kong) and the most expensive in South-east Asia.
What's surprising? It's cheaper to down a pint or two during a night out here compared with Hong Kong.
The overall average prize of beer here is $6.90 — versus $8.30 in the territory.
Getting a can of beer from a bar here will set you back $11.30 compared with $14.60 there.

The Swiss city of Geneva ranks as the most expensive place for beer.
You'll have to pay US$6.32 (S$8.50) on average.

The index last month shows data from 75 cities and territories, including for the five most commonly imported beers as well as the main local beer.
Last year, the international index compared the prices of a 33cl beer in 40 world cities.
The results then showed Singapore was the 7th most expensive place and Hong Kong was the eight costliest:
