Maid jailed for hurting baby in Choa Chu Kang flat
A maid was jailed for six weeks on Tuesday (June 2) for voluntarily causing hurt to her then-employers' nine-month-old baby.
Lalkhawngaihi, 24, who is an Indian national, committed the offence in a Choa Chu Kang flat at around 4.50am on April 10.
She was angry with the child for crying and disturbing her sleep.
She dropped the girl into a cot from a height of about 15cm and pulled her right hand to drag her out of it.
The baby was sent to KK Women's and Children's Hospital where she was found to have a 1.5cm red patch near her right armpit.
